The weekend of May 25 and 26 marked another edition of Jardins Abertos festival in Lisbon. This event opened to its visitors, free of charge, the gates of the most beautiful and secret gardens of the city, where there was space for gardening activities and plants, routes, guided tours, botanical workshop, environmental film shows, sustainable design and of orchids.
The mission of this Festival was to spread the knowledge of nature in an urban environment, sensitizing the population to the importance of respecting and preserving the public and private green space, favoring its community integration.
From the list of more than 20 gardens and activities developed throughout the event, we highlight the gardens of Palácio de Belém, present for the first time in this Festival, and the gardens of Fundação Calouste Gulbenkian, both green areas maintained by Hidurbe Serviços.
