The infrastructural registration consists on a graphic representation of the information obtained through field surveys of all the elements that compose the water supply and wastewater systems. With the systematized information, it is possible to build a tool to support effective and sustainable decision making, and to the operationalization of maintenance tasks, exploitation and expansion of the network.
This knowledge of the infrastructures allows a detailed analysis of the network components, such as identification, location, size, shape, depth, status, minimization of impacts with construction and repair activity, reduction of material diversity, stock reduction, among others.
Finally, this is an indispensable basis for the definition of strategies to water losses and undue inflows control, which is the main concern of the network managers.
